Tutye...one of our dogs at Rocking Horse Farm.

Bonnie crocheted this sweet little baby hat.  Bonnie is an amazing crocheter as she just crochets projects without any pattern at all and makes them up as she goes!

Spring!

Sue P. crocheted this gorgeous blanket for her grandson out of Mochi Plus.  She designed this round turned octagon blanket herself.
Remember the turtle from last week...well, Mary crocheted this other turtle for Sandee for her birthday.  So cute!
Bunny Nuggets gone wild!  Deb knit this cute creatures for her grandchildren for Easter.  She created these little bunnies from a chenille.  Since Deb made these cuties....they had to have a skirt and bow added for dramatic flair!
Beautiful Isabel...she is our resident sock teacher.
Sandee celebrated another birthday!  You are not going to believe this but...three, yes three birthday cakes were polished off by all of the knitters at the shop.  Happy Birthday Sandee!  The birthday sale is ongoing for the rest of the month.  Pick a ticket to find out if you have from 10-35% off on any item in the shop...excluding sale and special order items.
Birthday Smiles!
A birthday gift from Sandee's grandchildren has come to watch over all the comings and goings here at Yarns With A Twist.  Thanks Caleb and Maddie!
Bruce is here with his new spring baby kid!

Friday Finale....

This week in the shop we've had lots of new projects completed by our great knitting family.  Crocheting is really taking off here...and here is the latest crochet creation made after a much needed break from knitting baby items...
Mary has been crocheting turtles.  She used Noro and Lamb's Pride for this project. She's making a few of these for gifts for the little folks in her life.
Sitting around the table.  Everyone is welcome!
Beautiful Knitting Hands...Isabel.
Linda S. brought these lovely tulips in to celebrate the coming spring.
Barb W. knit these amazing socks up in between knitting her Great American Aran Afghan...last I heard she was on her last square!  There's a secret behind these sock that you'll  have to ask Barb about sometime.

Ellyn Cooper's lastest design.  This is a capelet that she has recently designed using several of her yarns. She was also knitting up another one in different yarns that was coming out beautifully.  You can choose a variety of Ellyn's yarns to work this project up. That's some of her yarn behind her on the wall.
And of course...the back view. We'll be having a class on this in April.
Nancy...a traveling nurse that has found us during her stay in Windham just completed these couple of pairs of socks.  Lots of nurses come into the shop and find knitting to be such a great way to unwind.  Often time you'll find nursing stories being swapped around in the shop!
She'll be travelling off to New York soon.  We'll miss her fun stories and great smile that she always brightened the shop with!
Kathy P. in another beautiful Japanese Mystery Scarf...this one is made out of cotton.

Paints....yarn or horses!

We are Yarns With A Twist at Rocking Horse Farm!  Here's why....Bruno showing off one of the horses.
Virginia F. in The Traveler's Coat.  She looks gorgeous.
Linda Wa. and 2 of her friends knit up these socks out of the same Fixation Yarn.  The yarn came out completely different for each pair.  It is such a great idea to do this with some of your friends!
Linda says: "At least 2 years ago, but more likely 3 years ago, I bought this yarn and needles for two of my best friends so we could all make socks alike together  - they wanted to branch out from scarf knitting.  One of us lost track of where she put the project and found it when she was getting out Christmas decorations (or putting them away), and of course there was some ripping out/starting over, but last Friday, everyone was finally finished!  So we had to mark the occasion with a photo and this is it!"
Bandit...if only I could fit on this chair.

Bountiful Projects....

A new project started using Silky Wool....We see lots of bags like this in the shop.  Folks bring in their bags to share projects, the 'regulars' come in with their bags filled with several projects to hang out for the day...not being able to decide what they would like to work on for the day...and others just stop by to sit for a short while and get a questioned answered.   We love to have all of you stop in whenever you have a spare afternoon to visit and sit and knit with us.
Noro

New shipment of Vintage Berrocco is in....lots of pretty new colors with that old vintage feel.

New Book Arrivals

A fantastic new afghan book just in.  This book has lots of unique styles that are not typically found in afghan patterns.
Deb K. is working on a gorgeous crochet afghan.  Here is a sneak peek at her beautiful work.  We have alot of crocheting going on at the shop.  Bonnie is working on 5 crocheted shawls for her daughters upcoming wedding celebration.  Sue P. is working on crocheting 50 doilies for a special keepsake for wedding guests of her niece.  Kim is working on a crocheted hat for a friend going through chemotherapy.  So, lots of crocheting going on here at the shop.  We have many ideas for you and several expert crocheters/designers here to help you with your crochet projects.
Basil Hat knit by Sandee for Edith.  Mission Falls was used for this project.  So many knitters have made this hat for all different sizes.  Each one is unique!  I think each time someone comes into the shop a new person wants to make it!  Christiane designed this hat and has taught a class in it.  We are available to help you through it whenever you get to making it for yourself or as a gift.  Several folks have knit this up as a baby set with a sweater of their choosing.  Christiane is off in Austria right now visiting with her mom.  We hope that they both have a wonderful time together!

Friday Finale...

Square done on a sampler afghan that Barbara P. is working on.
And...here she is.  Barbara is the winner of this months drawing.  She was thrilled as she told us this was the first time she's ever won anything.  We're glad she was so pleased!
Barb's loot.  Remember...for every $25 you spend we put your name into a drawing that we hold every month.  Maybe you'll be the winner next month!
Isabel in another multi-directional scarf that she knit.  This one was made out of Color Changing Cotton.  This is a 6-ply cotton that is hand dyed individually by a small indie hand dyer.  For those of you that know Isabel was about to move to Chicago...She is indeed staying here...never fear your sock maven is still here. Come by on a Wednesday to learn to make socks from Isabel.  Really...it's easy to begin your first pair of socks.  We have lots of new colorways.
Here's some yarn beauty to feast your eyes on.  A pile of Ellyn Cooper's Yarn Sonnets in Nantucket.  This is a wool, mohair and silk blend.  You could put one skein of this into a project or knit an entire shawl out of it.  It's always hard to decide which color to pick when it comes to Ellyn's yarns.  She was busy working on a new capelet pattern last night...we look forward to seeing what this will turn into.
Sue P. has a new puppy.  After Sue met Bonnie's puppy yesterday...she knew she had to have one of her own.  When she came walking into the shop we all thought she just had a big knitting bag with her...well, a cute new puppy was inside.  Of course she was passed all around....Zosha!

Bruno stopped by to hold Zosha.
Niki is Sheila's dog.  Sheila is one of our talented teachers.  Sheila's Niki loves everyone she meets here at the shop.  Here she is sitting like a lady. It might look like we have dogs here all the time but, that's not always the case.  We are huge dog lovers here and all the dogs that visit are very well behaved.  A few people here have lost animals recently so we are so happy for them that they have found new animal friends to love....and they've brought them in for us to meet them.
