New Workshop!

In this class you will learn

   different fiber / yarn and their attributes
- which fiber / yarn works for which project
- how to read a yarn label

Made By You!

Cindy made this cute poncho using Duo from Swedish Yarn Import. The pattern is called Pixie and can be found on ravelry.



Chris House send these two sweaters on their way to New Zealand for her grandkids. For the pink used Cascade, Cloud 9  and for the teal one Lana Grossa, Merino Big.


Gail Passarello made this adorable ensemble.
She used Dreambaby DK.  It's called Little Margot wrap and little pumps.
It's a pattern from one of the fabulous Sublime books (634)



This beauty came of Maureen Dabrowski's needles and is called Wingspan scarf, knit with Crystal Palace Yarns Mini Mochi. The pattern is available on ravelry.









Her other beautiful finished piece is Interlaced Summer Top (pattern by Gwen Bortner) knit with Cascade Yarns Pima Tencel.



This adorable vest was just knitted by Angie Bauer.  She made it using Pacific from Cascade.











This fun scarf, Volan, was made by Barbara Porter.

Barbara Porter also made this gorgeous reversible Afghan using Cascade 220 super wash.





Barbara Williams finished the Kid Cozy Throw by Andra Asar.

We are getting into the fall swing of things. I can't believe it's September 18th already. I think that the older I get, the time goes faster and faster…..WHOA, I say…..SLOW DOWN…..right?????  Here is our list of classes and I hope you find something that interests you to make. We are teaching smaller items, so you will have time to finish for the holiday season. Both Margaret and Christiane are including techniques that are very interesting and have been requested by many of you.  ENJOY.

CLASSES


EASY KNIT RIPPLE STITCH SCARF



Make a lovely and colorful scarf using a simple ripple stitch and a colorful yarn.

Level:  Advanced Beginner
Skills Required:  Must be able to cast on, knit, purl, bind off.
Material and Supplies: recommended yarn is KnitCol, butone or two skeins of any multi-colored yarn


Introduction to Weaving on a Ridged Heddle Loom

Have you thought about learning how to weave on a ridged heddle loom?  This loom is also
referred to as a knitter's loom.
Date: Monday, Oct 1st
Time: 7:00pm - 9:00pm
Instructor: Pat McMullan
She will be wrapping the loom at 7pm, so come early to be sure to see this.

We hope you will come for this fun filled night and go away wanting to weave.  We have looms for sale. If anyone is interested we will have classes in the near future taught by Pat.

There is no charge for this evening out.

Kingston Hat


Have you been intrigued with fancy multi-colored knitting?  It is not has hard as it looks.  Margaret will walk you through the simple steps to make a lovely and warm hat that will keep you toasty in the coming months as you learn this simple stranded two-color knitting.  Once you have mastered the Kingston Hat, you will have the basic skills necessary to tackle more complex multi-color knitting patterns including Fair Isle, Norwegian and other traditional and contemporary styles.

Level:  Advanced Beginner
Skills Required:  Must be able to cast on, knit, purl, bind off.  Experience in knitting in the round is helpful but not required.
Material and Supplies: Kingston Hat pattern. Recommended yarn is Ty-Dy Wool, but any worsted weight yarn may be used.  This pattern requires two high-contrast colorways; 16” long circular needles in size 9 and 6 and one set of double-pointed needles in size 9; one stitch marker; tapestry needle to weave in yarn ends

More Mosaic Knitting


Make this beautiful cowl using the technique of slipped stitch or mosaic knitting.  Perhaps the most simple of all colorwork techniques, mosaic knitting uses only one strand of yarn on each row.  You can either learn or practice mosaic knitting skills as you make this beautiful cowl, worked in the round, to keep you warm all winter.

Level:  Advanced Beginner
Skills Required:  Must be able to cast on, knit, purl, bind off.  Previous experience with mosaic knitting and knitting in the round are not required.
Material and Supplies: Cascade 128 yarn or other tightly-spun bulky yarn in two sharply contrasting colors; 24” long US 10 circular needles, or sized to yarn; one stitch marker; tapestry needle to weave in yarn ends.  Pattern will be provided.

New Class in May

Basic Socks I

Do want to learn how to make a basic sock? It's less difficult than you think. In this class we will make a child sock in a worsted or dk weight yarn on double pointed needles. 

When: Wednesday, May 16th,  7:00 - 9:00 pm
Teacher: Christiane

You need to know how to cast on, bind off, knit and purl.
Please get your material prior to class and make following swatch:
Cast on 20 sts and work at least 1" in stockinette stitch. Don't break yarn.
