Come in and see the beautiful afghan display on the shop wall. What better time to decide to knit, or crochet, an afghan than when the shop is having a yarn sale.

While on the subject of Afghans, more Building Blocks Afghan pattern books have arrived in the shop and there is always room for more in our Building Blocks afghan knit along. Next get together will be on Saturday, March 24th 9:30am to 11:30am. Be there with your squares!

Mosaic Knitted Pouches
Wednesday, March 21st

Are you intrigued by color work but intimidated by the idea of having to manage two or more yarns across a row? Then mosaic knitting may be the thing to try. Mosaic knitting is an interesting technique where you will use multiple colors, but each row is worked with only one. The magic happens when you add slipped stitches. The end result is a dense sturdy fabric perfect for these pouches. This project is worked flat. The pattern gives you a choice of three sizes to make ranging from 3" x 3.75" to 5.5" x 5.75".

Box Drape Vest
Saturday, March 24th
Not only easy to make but an easy fit! The vest can be worn open or wrapped with a belt. The basket weave stitch makes for lovely reversible folds. The combination of boxes and a nice drape create a vest that anyone, no matter their size, can wear and look marvelous. If we can get Sandee to take it off, the vest will be on display in the shop. This vest was knitted by our own Sheila and she used Queensland Rustic Tweed.
This pattern was chosen from the book Swing Swagger Drape: Knit the Colors of Australia by Jane Slicer-Smith.
