Winter is finally here! Last weekend we were enjoying fall-like weather, this weekend is perfect for staying indoors, sit by a warm fire and knit. What project are you working on? Is it something just for you?

Brown Sheep Wildfoote Luxury Sock Yarn has arrived. Look at all the pretty colors. Wildfoote is a blend of washable wool and nylon. Each skein has 215 yards, for a pair of socks you will need two. Not only is Wildfoote a wonderful yarn to knit with, it is also inexpensive. Two skeins will cost you less than $15.00.
Want to learn to knit socks? Let us know and either an individual or group class can be set up to start you on your sock journey.

The staff of YWAT has been busy counting yarn for the annual inventory. If there is one benefit to inventory, it reminds all of us of what yarns are currently in the bins. While working in the baby yarn section, Sue came across Plymouth KnitCol and the next thing you know she was off knitting a afghan that will be a baby gift.

Sometimes it is hard to imagine what a yarn will look like off the ball and on the needles. Sue knitted her afghan on the diagonal and all she has left is to add the ruffled border. KnitCol comes in a variety of colors. Not only a perfect choice for this afghan, but for either a child's or adult sweater. KnitCol is a 100% superwash wool (Machine wash/dry flat), DK weight, and 137 yards per 50g ball.

Sue has been bitten by the afghan bug and she has a second afghan in progress. She chose the pattern shown at the left which is comprised of large squares each a different pattern design. Perfect for learning different knitting techniques. For this afghan Sue chose Sheep Shop yarn which available in many colors and is located in the shop sale area.

Want to knit an afghan but want it done quick? Big Needle Knit Afghans is the book for you. The patterns in this book use Brown Sheep yarns, many available in the shop. Big Needle Knit Afghans is available at YWAT.

The Skacel January KAL is in progress. The instructions for Part 1 (cuff) and Part 2 (thumb gusset and cable pattern) are available at http://knitpurlhunter.com/kal/. Part 3 will be available Thursday. The pattern provides instructions for either a pair of mittens or fingerless mitts. Don't be put off by the cable pattern as it is very simple. There is still time to join in and the shop has some nice colors of Simpliworsted yarn remaining.

Reminder that all Mission Falls yarn is on sale. Think Spring as there is a nice selection of
Mission Falls 1824 Cotton available.
